how to repair a zanussi dishwasher DE6854?

stops working not long into its cycle and lights start flashing
linda doherty, September 2006
Found that if the water in the bottom does not pump away quick enough the dishwasher will stop and the green light will flash.remove the filter and the stainlees steel mesh at the bottom of the dishwasher and make sure both are clean, this then exposes a bowl with a small outlet at the bottom left hand side ( the bowl is full of dirty water, remove water with a sponge). This is where the dirty water pumps away, make sure the outlet is not blocked ( as mine was with paster shells, you may find fat or sludge up the pipe which may be a bit harder to remove) ..if so it will restrict the water from escaping and cause the fault, this will need to be unblocked. when the blockage has been removed replace fitler and mesh and run a full cycle with the dishwasher empty to ensure this has removed the fault
