sukuda sk 125 belt replacement?

I have changed the drive belt on my bike and it when the throttle has been turned, the wheel turns very slowly. If i sit on it, it will not pull away. If i coax it along it will pick up speed and run, but is not smooth at all. I have the correct belt fitted. Any ideas
