Rounded bolt ?

Hi i need some help with ideas on how i can get a bolt off thats on my gn 125.
As people will know if they have had a gn125 the bolt for the exhaust at the rear mounted on the frame doesnt have alot of room to get to. Well my problem is i need to change the exhaust but it hasnt been done for about 10 years and the bolt securing it has been rounded off. Can anyone help me with this as it has a whole in the bottom and top of the exhaust and its beginning to get quite loud.

The usual method of removing a bolt where its head has been rounded off is to hammer on a smaller good quality 12 point socket. Then use a socket wrench to wind it out.

As David has recommended, soak it in penetrating oil or Plus Gas for a few days first.

You may need the "EasyOut" tool if the head shears off, or, alternatively drill the bolt out with a drill bit of a smaller diameter than the minor diameter of the bolt. Re-tap the female thread afterwards so that a new replacement bolt will fit nicely. Use copper grease when re-assembling.

Not familiar with the item, but you could soak it with penetrating oil, such as WD40 over several days,& then, if it is accessible drill it & use an "easyout" to remove the offending item. Hope this helps ! (easyout is an extraction tool with a tapered left hand thread designed for this purpose)
