Is there a stat on a Beko DRCS76W dryer heater unit?

I have a Beko DRCS76W dryer which is only just blowing warm. Checking the resistance across each element shows 0 Ohms. The top most element is sagging badly and is touching its lower counterpart. As the belt recently broke and I have replaced it, is it possible that it overheated then and I now need to reset a cutout switch or stat?

OK thanks I just wanted to be sure that the element was shot.

no rotation/airflow due to a belt failure can cause the element to fail and distort
