How can I fix my Lexmark Z640 printer?

How can I fix my Lexmark Z640 printer which has stopped working? Have had it for about 5 years and it's not had heavy use. It isn't a cartridge problem as I've had it briefly checked by a cartridge firm and they couldn't get it working. Will print colour but not black and white.
