maytag washer LAT8826AAE?

washing machine filled up with water then just stopped. Turned the dial and it wouldn't do anything. Turned the dial to spin to get the water out and it still wouldn't do anything.

small square unit on motor with wires on both sides,check for continuinty. if not try locate spare timer and check again
