chicksfan re noisey clutch?

forgot to mention that it crunches when you select reverse gear but all other gears are ok. clutch dosen't slip and feels fine when driven hard.

I don't recall your original question if there was one. However clutch drag can be caused by air or water in the hydraulic fluid which is hygroscopic, which means that it absorbs water.

On the 206 your hydraulic fluid should be renewed every 2 years. When was yours last done?

If necessary remind me what your original question was.

no point speculating, the clutch needs to come out.this is obviously clutch /f wheel ,thrust bearing related ,.simply remove and inspect .just hope that the clutch hasn't scored the fly wheel but in my opinion and judging from your your description it is highly likely . expect it to be down to mechanical failure of the pressure plate.
