topping oil up mountfield mower?

were do you fill/top up oil

Depends on what engine is fitted. Mountfield have used a number of engines over the years, but they all have a dip stick. Fill to the MAX line. Use SAE30 grade oil, NOT multigrade - these are for liquid cooled engines that run much cooler.

On the side of the engine you will see a cap with oil written on it (2 protruding lugs) unscrew and top up level as seen inside (a small ledge) do not overfill.
a lot of mowers use normal 30 grade or normal engine will be OK.
