beko frost free fridge freezer CDA 539FW?

hi, iam having ice building up on the evaporator and around the fan ,the ice is so bad it has caused the fan to stop.iam wondering how to remove the evaporator cover,I have removed the two phillips screws on the cover ,but it appears to be stuck solid.I don't think the evap heater is working ,hence the massive ice build up .does any of you know which parts I should change ,and how to test the heating circuit.many thnx in advance

test the heater once your in the back.Think there is 2 sensors or thermal fuse in there as well?. While since I did one.the resistor in the roof of the fridge is a potentiometer and controls the pcb and sound OK.Yours probably doesn't have defrost timer at the back.you need to totally defrost.if you do defrost totally and switch it on you should find it works OK for a while and then fails again if it is a defrost issue

thanks for the reply, the appliance was manufactured in 07 so I guess it is not affected, checked sr no on beko website and and all ok,I was thinking that I was going to get a free repair ,as the recall was due to a faulty heater timer, due to water getting in.but thanx for pointing that out to me.iam guessing there must be some kind of thermal fuse in the evaporating circuit ,and maybe behind the evap cover ,but I cannot get the cover off .iam starting to now think that the evap is mounted to the cover and won't release due to the build up of ice .maybe I should let the appliance fully defrost first .I managed to take out the stat and noticed it was basically a variable resistor,so I measured the stat on different positions and got different resistant values .so can we say that the stat is ok?.I did manage to look under the evap cover when I gave it the hairdryer treatment and managed to clear the drain of ice.I did notice a white wire coiled somewhat in the drain channel ,am I right in thinking this is a channel heater?.cannot fully defrost the freezer until wife can find somewhere to store the food which is in there for a party.anyway enough about my ramblings and thanx for the advice .

go around the back of the appliance and check on the left side of the compressor for a white plastic box with a round plug in it.remove the plug and twist the defrost timer (if fitted) some are electronic.could be defrost timer fault.heater fault. thermostat fault.where these the models effected by the Beko recall???
