Freezer door left ajar overnight (doh!), unit now won't run. Have tried unplugging and left for 30 mins (several times) but it runs for 2-3 secs and switches off. Can it be persuaded to re-start? or will I have to call someone in? It happened about 18 months ago, and it re-started after one 30 min unplug. Any advice welcome.
take advantage of this advice,it will save you a call out fee ,the advice the engineer will give you is as follows.oh let the appliance fully defrost ,and if it does it again call me,that will be 60 quid please.

you will have to do a full defrost .frost free freezers have a heater evap circuit .if the freezer is detecting a large build up of ice ,the heater circuit will be activated to try and remove the ice.the compressor will kick in from time to time ,but will not run for any lenghth of tlme .expect a full defrost to take up to 24 hours and get ready with the mop and bucket .
