Water is entering and going into the drum of the machine but the drum doesn't turn at all. Drained the water out, cleaned the filter (which was clear) and tried again. Same thing happened but this time it caused my mains power to trip out at the consumer unit after about 20 minutes. Any ideas anyone...?

sounds like the motor carbon brushes have worn down.remove and inspect ,should be about 10cm long,it could also be a fault on the motor if its started tripping out the main consumer unit.it almost certainly motor related from the description you have given. when you drained the machine did you get any electrical devices wet?if you have then you have created another issue and will have to wait for the components to dry out .
