I have just made a cross country move. I have a Porform 985 CD.When I plug the unit in, I get the computerized readout and can change the incline. However when I adjust speed, I have not reaction from unit.

I have the same treadmill too! Lights come on but it seems like no ones home? Belt will not move. It sounds like it's trying to turn on but the belt does not move and I cannot choose speed?

I just inherited the same treadmill last night. I have come online to try and find a key & a manual. I am using a piece a cardboard to get it to come on. It also did the same thing you described. All the lights came on and I was able to incline but the belt would not move. I knew that it had not been used for several years and figured it had just froze up. I kept turning it on and off while moving the belt manually. After a few hours it started on its own. I have now used it twice. Keep trying!!!

I have the same treadmill and just encountered the same problem as you have described. All the lights come on but when I set it to a speed the belt never moves and there are no sounds at all. After a few seconds the speed indicator goes to zeroes. It seems like its a computer board problem which I'm told cost in the $300 neighborhood.
