I have a Renault Megane Scenic RXE 2.0. The speedometer works fine from a cold start for around 10 mins then drops to 0mph whilst still driving ! It sometimes comes back on occasionally for a short while then dies again on me. Can you tell me what is causing this ? I have been told about Gearbox speed sensor could be faulty. Is this correct & how do i get to it to replace it ? I have just read on the website it could have something to do with an electric pickup in the gearbox which gets dirty with clutch dust etc which is easy to take out & clean. Where can i locate it please ? Thanks

Hi

yes you need to change the speedo sensor which is located at the back of the gearbox, its easy to take out. it cost around 22.50 pounds from the main dealer.
