Checking the carb on DB50QT-11?

Hi there, I bought this DB50QT a month ago has about 1000 miles on it. Problem is it doesn't start..! Can you tell me how to open the carb and check the spark plug and/or related problems that can cause this? Im new to the scooter thing and if there is an illustrated help ava. pls provide the link.
