focus tdci 1.8 54 reg 74k?

clutch made a strange noise yesterday when pedal depressed, kinda like a grinding/rubbing noise. didn't do it when pedal released, been sounding ok today. clutch is fine, no vibes, no slippage im thinking DMF is on its way out. any you guys or girls got any thoughts.

wife and i dont suffer from that trait but i know what you mean, people are always in a rush to get away from the lights or junction so they tend to ride the clutch

Heard of quite a few clutches on cars where the release bearing has "cut through" the fingers of the diaphragm and the release bearing has broken up.
Seems to be a trait with modern driving style. People sit at the lights with the clutch & brake pedals pressed down instead of shifting into neutral. If people understood how a clutch works they wouldn't do it.
