How can I create more tension on the chain, to take the slop out?

With the chain tensioner is adjusted the whole way, I still have enough slop in the chain, that the chain come off when the saw is running.

If the adjuster is at it's maximum adjustment and the chain is still slack, then you either have an incorrect chain for your saw. Is it a new chain you are trying to fit? If not then replace the chain with a new one of the correct type and links.
