slow starting ,new glow plugs tested and working anti return valve fitted between fuel filter and pump to stop fuel running back any ideas are very welcome

turns over for a long time then lots of white smoke which is unburnt fuel then it starts and is lumpy on tick over but when warm it starts every time and runs sweet unless you leave it for about 4 hours and back to normal

How do you mean, slow starting,
Slow turning over.
Or you have to turn it over for some time.
Slow turning over, check battery and all connections, to starter motor.
turning over for some time, maybe fuel injection, timing out, Most diesels do not need the glow plugs, they will start without, better with, but. My boat engine, does not have plugs wired, still starts 1st go.
More explaination required.
