Hi having problems with my 1800 diesel passat 2001 it starts OK will run for about 10 minutes then cuts out and wont restart until engine appears to have cooled down any suggestions please?

i know the earley passat well weather the engin is the same i dont know. try changin the fuel filter to start, use a air line to blow any thin in the fuel line back, try find out weather there is an overheat sensor somewhere it mite be kikin in to early, is the engin overheatin? .after this its down tochekin scensors with diognostic gear good luk
