my single oven is over-heating the control panel above the door which becomes unbearable to touch the seal round the door is fine

external metalwork could get up to near 100deg c on some ovens externally.some ovens have a fan to blow the air out between the door and the fascia panel.in some cases it burns you but is within working specs
