ford s max battery changing?

after changing the\battery the engine warning light remains on. i have reconnected the lead on top of the air filter

you could try disconnecting the battery again and waiting 10 mins then reconnecting OR you may need to use a OBD2 reader to delete the fault code or take it to a garage to do it for you assuming there is no other faults
