Hi men, I have a scantronic 9800+ system ?

Some time ago in this area we had a lightening strike which fried the phones in the house and allso since then the remote
key pads of the alarm have no LED"s showing anywhere, totally blank. I therefore cannot get into the system to reprogramme it or to see what if any fault codes are showing. There appears to be power to the remote keypads as the keys are backlit when I attempt to enter any codes, but nothing happens apart from sounds from the pad when the numbers are pressed. Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks in atticipation

I have not recieved the advice apparently posted by Acorn for some reason ??? how can I get in touch with him???

As regards the question from gts, No it is not a monitored
alarm and as far as I know is not connected to the telephone system either.

thats connected to your phone line,(case u not know)if it is, the panel be may be blown,(the lightening arresters in phone socket dont work(that has been our experience)but try acorn suggestion, you may be lucky
hope you are,and you are one of the smarter guys, you buy a very good panel, unlike most

is it a monitored system?

Turn off the mains, remove the battery, close the panel, switch the mains back on, see what happens. If it seems to come back to life and the keys start working again, get a new battery.

If none of the above works .....................
