how do know if the electris have gone?

the motor is fine working, just replaced the pump, however it still wont pump out unless i lay it down at the back door i really dont have a clue what else to try next please help :)

its a hotpoint aquarius it still spins and washes and still pumps out water its just when i lift the waste pipe off the floor thanks :)
