Creda T622CW tumble dryer No heat?

My Creda is not producing any heat at all. It makes no difference what heat setting you put it on. Everything else works fine. It tumbles. Timer fine. Water container is empty. Condenser seems OK. I see there was similar thread last year ( http://www.howtomendit.com/answers.php?id=11533 ). It mentions two heating elements and a thermostat. As I get no heat at all this would point to the thermostat? Or could it be something else?

After testing as much as I could on the dryer and having half the panels already off I looked up wiring diagrams and found this thread, I was sceptical but.............As stated below I checked the two small thermostatic trips inside the back panel and the one with the green dot was popped in. I could not get it to come out so drilled a 1.5mm hole in the back and popped it out. Checked electrical continuity and it was working. Put it back in, tested the dryer and .............heat.

Thanks, Tumble dryer sorted after drilling small hole in thermostat, even getting my husband to throw it at the floor didn't work. Seems unbelievable, but it works. See link to eBay on earlier comment

Thanks for the excellent tips! I removed the back panels (not the whole back) and removed/checked the two thermostats - the one with the green spot was popped in.
Banging it didn't get it to pop out so I drilled a 1.5mm hole through the back (very slowly to avoid damage) and pushed a pin through to pop the disc back out. Fixed!
This solution is not mine - it appears in the thread below. I've repeated it here so it can be found further up the list for future queries.
I fixed this in about half an hour for free. Calling out an engineer would have taken much longer and cost a lot (weekend call out). Best of all, though, my family are now impressed with my unusual display of competence! :)

take out the thermal trip which has two orange wires pushed onto, it bang it on the floor.
the metal centre should be curved outwards refit and away you go.

This extremely helpful seller on ebay has the answer, and there's a high probability yours is the same fault. It's easy to fix, just follow his steps for popping back out the microswitch.

I was about to pay £100+ to Reading's Apple Electrics until I read this. I bet all the engineers know about this but keep quiet...

I have been having similar problems so tried drilling the 1mm whole in the thermo and popping the concave disc out.Its gets it working but keeps tripping.Seeing as the heater works and the tumbler turns I reason the thermo must be faulty.
Will be ordering one but a big thanks to you guys for pointing me in the right direction.

cheers chris! after following all your tips eventually found the microswitch ( left side panel - deep in bottom right hand side of unit, silver lever sticking up) and this resolved our problem. I often have no heat and this is usually due to not cleaning out the filter often enough, this usually works if i clean this out through running water ( as advised by man from shop) and it always works again thanks to everyone for your advice (Big TED )

lost heat,did as previous solution,removed rear covers to expose thermos,one with blue dot was the problem,removed it and drilled small dowl through it and popped metal backing plate back out,put back together and cleaned all filters etc,working fine

I had found the blue switch open circuit and then found this thread when searching for a spare. Drilled a tiny hole dead centre of the back and the switch popped back (it would not reset when I dropped it or slammed it on the vice).
The root cause of the issue was a blocked filter which I think had caused the switch to trip.

Brilliant! Thanks guys last time this was reset I had to pay £50 for an engineer to "Fix" this (I wondered why he tapped the little white disc with a blue dot on it) and it took him an hour and a half!

I just took the small shaped piece (2 screws) the long central bar (4 screws) and the shaped lower section of back off (about 8 screws) then took the wire off the right hand white disc (thermostat) unscrewed its one screw (it looked fine)wires back on and then undid the screw on the other one (with a blue dot on it) and the reverse side metal disc was concave so tapped it on the worktop and it popped back to slightly convex (only very slightly) and reassembled. VOILA it only blooming works and no £50 fee!

(Just be careful if you do take the wires off the thermostats that you know which goes where otherwise could be a bummer) The dotted ones wires were both orange although one is longer than the other.

Anyway thank you for the advice my little creda is running again and I know exactly what to do next time.

Thanks! Took off the thermostat and found one that was slightly 'pushed in'. Mine had a small hole on the other side, pushed the blunt end of a needle through this and it 'popped out'. Now working fine, saved myself £100.00 which is what I was quoted by the service engineer for fixing new heating element and thermostat.

Have a Creda TCR13. No heat. The final thing that got heat back
was to chuck the "green dot" ( left hand ) thermostat, button towards the floor, hard onto the garden patio floor. Normal heat now service now resumed. Thanks to this forum and the great video at espares.co.uk as it showed me that I only really needed
to take part of the back panel off.

Just fixed my drier with the tips on this forum.

Switch off power.
Remover back panels.
Removed green dot thermostat.
Tap on hard surface- did not work.
Prise up metal lip on thermostat.
Remove bimetal disc and press to pop out.(There is a switch in the middle of the thermostat so im pleased I didnt drill it but that may work for some driers.)
Reassemble and switch on power.

Each time the heat has gone on my tumble dryer I have completely cleaned out the pull out filter at the bottom and it has continued to work perfectly with heat! It gets very clogged up with wet fluff and that seems to affect the heat for some reason. Worth a try before you start doing anything more technical.

Take off the thermostat with the green dot you will see if it has tripped or not. The metal membrane will be concave (bent inwards if it has) I tried the suggestion to simply drill a small hole through the centre of the plastic back and push the membrane back out with a pin. Worked great!

My Creda dryer has done the same thing, still running, but without heat. Ive done what has been advised above, but it just keeps going again. Wanted to know if there is something im missing, or is it time for a new one. I love my creda dryer so just want to check before i chuck it out

Thanks for the tips on how to reset the un-resettable thermostat (green spot).

Mine wouldn't reset by hitting it. However if you use a jewellers screwdriver (very small head) and ease up the metal rim the bi-metallic disc comes out. Pop it back to original shape and put it back in, and ease the metal rim back down gently with a hammer.

I've yet to find that lever on my dryer. However it would appear that either I damaged on of the thermos my self by pressing in the metal bit that didn't come back out, or it arrived from the supplyer that way. I got my dryer to work by switching an old thermo (not blown) with one of the new ones (not blown) and THEN THERE WAS ....... HEAT! Thanx for all your tips.

Genius - I could see that one of the thermostats (green dot) was slightly inverted. Gave it a bash on the kitchen floor and normal service resumed.

Glad I did as I was going to buy a replacement part tomorrow. Thanks

take off the thermostate on back of machine un clip orange wires chuck thermostate on hard surface doing this should reset it re fit and try i was told by creda engineer to do this and it worked for me many times

I have a creda condenser model T622CW that worked but no heat.
1. I changed the 2 thermostats (high and low heat) on the back but still no heat.
2. Then I changed the heater element although the old one looked ok. Still no heat.
3. I traced the supply wires to the heater (light blue and brown) and they go down and into the centre of the machine.
4. Removed the left side panel (looking from the back) and the wires go to a microswitch that has a lever attached.
5. Below this lever is a plastic button protruding from the condenser unit (white plastic) and the button was up. I pushed it down which activated the microswitch.
6. I made sure the unit was safe and connected back to the mains and switched on. Eureka! HEAT!
7. Outcome: The two thermostats were definitely blown so that is the first move you make when no heat. But the 2nd move, provided the heater element is intact, is to look for that microswitch. I hope this helps a lot of people because when I searched for help I found it very limited.

no heat the thermo cut out are placed at the back of the machine take off metal strip then undo back panal. you will see 2 round discs the size of a5 pence with wires going to them undo small screw and look at the back of them make shore supply turned off if center is pushed in they have blown cost about £14 make shore you get them the right way one has a green spot

I have been told that many Tumble Driers have a thermal cut out. Looked in the manual and found no reference. Would I have one on this Creda?

Also to make changes will I just need to take the top of? This came off last night. I can see a couple circuit boards. Not sure if these include the thremal switchs. Spoke to my local parts supplier and asked about thermostats and was told this came as part of a kit and not available as an individual part.

Also see the connections to the heating elelment. If they need replacing, removal does not look easy. Any advice here?

I would replace the temperature switches as they go open circuit after a while & don't switch the supply to the heater element.
