did you connect it under your sink?.did you remove the blank end from the spigot you connected it to?.Just a thought.Also check when pushing it back that the drain hose hasn't kinked

You say new, If still under warranty, do not touch, it can invalidate it, even though it will be a pain, call them out, that is what the warranty is for.
