Replaced battery in Accenta 8 console?

Have replaced battery in the Accenta 8 console, now the alarm won't stop sounding even when correct codes are keyed into keypads. Eventually had to put old battery back in to stop it sounding off, any more ideas please ?

have you checked the voltage at the keypads?its a basic question i know,as alarm guy said,it not make sense what you say about fitting old battery back in and your panel works, that would suggest to me ur new battery faulty ,but if you test it with the proper test unit ,u will know ,i i dont mean with a test meter,we use a unit that puts dummy load on battery ,it tells you if its good or bad

Battery was correct voltage, spec etc. and WAS connected up correctly. Keypads didn't work with either new or old battery connected, the alarm just stopped sounding when the new battery was removed and the old one re-fitted, alarm still not functional, fuses have been checked and are ok.

It it correct battery, correct voltage etc.

No idea, why would a old battery make the old codes work?

Did you connect the new one correct polarity wise?
