It is in a sealed plastic housing situated between the water pump and engine block. The plastic housing has three hose connections and must be relaced as a unit. Remove the intercooler pipes for better access.The top hose is a ' T ' shape follow the ' leg ' of the ' T ' down to the themostat housing.

richie if its the same as the petrol 200 its at the rear of the engine under the inlet manifold theres a long metal pipe which runs along the rear of the engine the thermo is located by the waterpump end hope that helps it was a pig of a job on the 200 petrol 16v
