Hi ,yes golfs do have central locking pump it is located under the rear lights (drivers side) i have located it and checked it.It may have got damaged when i backed the car and hit a skip in my drive, the lights broke and i had them fixed but now the central locking is not working.I have been told i may need new pump .

sorry bit bemused central locking units don't normally have pumps there is normally an indvidual solanide per door which opperates electronically, however on most cars there is a unit sometimes located in the boot and sometimes at the front of the car these have a rear re-set button i-e after an accident may need pressing not sure where it is on your car sorry
