i want to change the doorseal on the electrolux 14780 modelno 914527306 washingmachine.it has been damaged during a washing cycle through a stuck piece of clothes.the machine is fully working but i thought it might be better to repair the damage on the rubber door seal.is it a difficult task?

there is usually a spring clip or screw clip on the outside drum side of door seal and the inside one is usually a spring around the seal, all door seals have to be lined up or they won't drain properly, maybe if the split is in back of door seal and high enough up you could try a patch if the seal is in good condition(not sticky)and patch will not touch door surface. to change it will need a lot of patience, but the top will have to come off and door open, not easy.
