Sounds like the car has shut down to limp mode.Take the car to a garage for a diognostic reading,the car will have fault code/s stored in the on board computer.The codes are related to component failures such as crank/camshaft sensors etc.Expect to pay around £20.00 for a reading at a none franchised garage.Or £90.00 plus at a main dealership.
