hotpoint wm52 washing machine problem?

thanks paul, from robert, one is for hot one for cold, but only cold water can be fed to machine from the premises and element wont heat water, element is ok,its been checked, any suggestions.

If the heater is ok but the water isn't getting hot, have you got the "economy" button in the on position. This stops the heater working to save electricity. If so turn it off by pushing it in. Stupid idea really as the water needs to be heated to do an efficient wash. Also you need both inlet hoses connected to the machine - doesn't matter if they're both cold water. If it still doesn't heat up then you've probably got a faulty timer.

sorry pal,needs a hot feed,only other solution is to buy a cold fill only washer.see the water is not in the drum long enough during cycles to heat up to correct temp.Well ideal temp,on the later models,the machine will just sit there heating the water,before it starts cycling.Yours doesn't it cycles through regardless,.Hence the washer washing with cold/tepid water.You must have both intakes connected to the water supply or theres a high chance of damaging the valve that isn't fed with water.
