How can I fix my Smeg dishwasher?

I have a Smeg dishwasher EN 50242.

When I switch it on the lights come on and sounds like it is starting but just makes a 'glug' noise and doesnt start but lights still remain on, any suggestions?

you could start by undoing the fill hose and check for water supply, check the filter in the solenoid valve as well and make sure its clean
