Tefal protect steam generator, drain plug stuck. ?

Hi I have a Tefal GV9110 protect steam generator iron. I have tried to descale it but the drain plug is stuck, It is a metal cap that has to be unscrewed with a 2p coin, normally this is easy but it won't budge. I have tried WD40, I tried squirting a bit of scaleaway around it, I have tried turning the coin with a pair of pliers and all this did was bend the coin! any ideas how I can turn the metal plug cap to get it off? I have no idea why it's stuck.

White vinegar cotton wool worked a treat, thank you! I had little faith after chisel rash, bent key
Not Tefal but Morphy Richards power steam elite. Brilliant solution for a seized drain plug
Thanks again

Just to let you know that the white vinegar method worked for me,yippee !!!Just make sure you have a replacement plug to replace the old one.You can get these from Tefal website.Lucky for me they sent me two last time so had ready replacement.

Well Danielle if like me you just ignored the flashing warning light and carried on using the iron telling myself that I will get around to rinsing it through but left it too late ? It is probably stuck fast with limescale. What I have just done is remove water tank and turned base on its side plug side up,got cotton ball and rolled it into thin strips and with very small screwdriver jammed as much cotton wool around the edges of plug then poured white vinegar onto table spoon and poured onto cotton wool so it soaks through and will now leave over night and just hope this will eat away at limescale build up and hopefully it will allow me to undo plug tomorrow ???If it does I promise to rinse on a regular basis from now on.
Keep you posted
