started car in gear and it stalled then when tried to restart no life at all e.g dash lights etc

there may be a main fuse fitted in battery lead which could have blown. check for power to main lead on starter motor,should be battery voltage.

did you check the battery terminals? if they are tight check the battery cable that goes to the starter for tightness cause it will do the same as the battery terminals. if they are fine check for a dead cell in your battery. if that is fine check the solenoid on the starter as they go out and do the same thing as a loose terminal

get your manual, find out were your fuse box is , and check your fuses one by one , have your keys out when your doing this, look for the main fuse first, and if any of the fuses are gone , you will see a broken wire through the see through body of the fuse, just replace it, also check the battery leads going to the battery poles on the battery, make sure there tight, do this first, and try start it, if no luck go check the fuses then.
