2000 vectra 1.8 starts but cuts out ?

i have a 200 vectra 1.8 ls it starts but will not run.can any help.

In that case I wouldn't expect it to be a choked or collapsed intake or exhaust system (although it is still possible).
Does the engine management light come on and go off correctly when you try to start, or is it flashing, or does it not light up at all?

hi duke when i start it it will run for a very short time and then stop,nothing as been done to the car.the car was running fine with no problems.i went out in the morning to start it and it just wouldnt run.

When it starts how long will it run?
Did this problem suddenly appear or has it got worse gradually?
Anything done to the car prior to this fault?
Have you checked the air intake is clear?
Can you check for a blockage in the exhaust system?
Can you check the fuel delivery pressure at the fuel rail?
