ADTseries 2 galaxy alarm?

just moved to new house, with above alarm fitted.Iam trying to use it,there was no battery in the panel,so I purchased one, along with the engineers and user manuals. The problem iam having is trying to stop it dialing ADT.Ihave removed the TEL line connection and now I have fault indicator.I have spoke to ADT who don't want to know unless I pay £195 for a engineer or simply disconnect it. 0r start a contract. My question is how can I get the engineers code to do a master reset so I can use it myself.any ideas please and thankyou all who reply to my question.

Honeywell will read this and think what do they know. Its the only panel i know where you have to put the engineers code in twice, I dont like them much. Horrible. Me i swear by me ADE Logic 4, never let me down. LOL

Nothing wrong with a galaxy thats programed well.
Best on the market IMHO.

Isnt it amazing, we have been down this road before with this company that is mentioned, I wish the general public would wake up to the awfull call out charges they impose, Yet Joe Public just moan and cough up, Are you stupid, You dont find ADT engineers on here because most of them are clue-less, And ive taken over enough of their systems to know how poor their hard-wired alarms are.
My advice to them is Sell up, and leave the alarm installs to us the professionals.

Here here Alarm, i was wondering what on earth is No Name going on about, Put a link in yes, but not there.

If it is rented, Rip it out and fit a scantronic - comes with a manual and more stable than a galaxy and all round good piece of kit.

alarm guy,say what you mean, dont hold back!!:-)

No name, your full of shite

Your method will never work as long as the sun shines.

if you access the end station try the following

remove mains
remove battery

put a link between 0v and tamper on the siren out pins on the pcb

remove connections to zone 1 (1001)

defeat panel tamper switch, put the end station panel screw in place
then power the panel up bay battery first then mains

enter default code 1234 (or12345)
this should silence the system
then ESC
then enter default engineers code 1122 or 112233 depends on software version
then ENT
enter engineer code again that should default back to factory

BE AWARE BY DOING THIS YOU NOW HAVE TO REPROG THE WHOLE SYSTEM

do not do this unless you have either an engineers book or have knowledge of the system

Way to go Tom, but the system is probably rented.
So its rip out time, get a new one.

OP, check with ADT if it is owned or rented. Before you do anything.

on the galaxy panels that ADT use there is no master reset. Yes you can crash the codes but all the other programming is retained. If you have the engineer manual it will show that option56 is the comms programming if you turn off line volts monitoring it will ignore the line not being connected. then you have to remove all the other comms programming like the telephone numbers as it will try to dial out then show a fault. failing that call out a reputable local company they'll help you out at a resonable cost.

OOOOOH!!!,that's naughty!!!...The system still belongs to ADT...but I hate them..so who cares..There's two software versions for the series two.. what's the sr no on the panel?
