How can I fix my 9800 Microprocessor Intruder alarm system ?

My MIAS is showing fault rt when I try to clear putting my alarm code it starts ringing but not the usual ring tone and I have trouble stopping it. When I do eventually stop it it returns to the rt fault again. Please can anyone help.

What does it say in the manual about rt?

rt Illegal use of keypad (excess number of keypresses).
