Not ALL condenser dryers have a pump. some rely on gravity and have bottles at the lowest point on the appliance

a condenser dryer has a pump that pumps water into a container at bottom of the machine that then goes into a drawer at front of machine, that the user empties,a vented dryer has a hose that vents damp air out of the home via a flexi tube

condenser dryers do not have vent pipes so have to capture the moisture from the air and put it in a bottle for the customer to empty every load.simple as that really.more prone to blockages due to customer misuse and abuse but reasonably reliable in my opinion. What about compressor dryers. No heating element!!!!
