jammed boot on astra twintop?

I have had something stuck in the boot latch & since removing it thro the small hole in the rear seats my boot will not open.I can hear it trying to release when I operate the release catch.Is there a way to release it from inside?I can't see any way of dropping the rear seats down to access the boot. HELP PLEASE
