How to get the front control panel off washing machine?

I have a Candy CDB 115 washer dryer. It's a standard UK front loader machine, with a row of 5 buttons on what looks like a sealed panel along the top. Yesterday I pressed Start and the button made a snapping sound and went right through the panel. Now, through the holes in which the buttons fitted, I can see them, on a card, dangling from a wire. They look like they might just clip back into place again, but how do I take the front panel off to get at them? And does anyone have any experience with mending these machines?
Thank you for your help!

with machine unplugged remove the 3 studs at the back of lid , slide lid backwards and remove side rails and 2 seven mil studs front corners, remove soap box and you will see 3 lugs that need pressing downwards while pulling on the facia panel which should come towards you and give you access to re fit the switch assembly, i find by putting two small self tapping screws on the switch section it prevents this happening again
