I must admit I have abused my Zanuusi DE6744S for years, recently it started leaking badly, we took it apart and it has a large plastic unit on one side (left) when you take the casing off. the problem seems to be the fat build up - ok, but how to get it out?
There is what looks like a plug, does it come out? have tried to gently prise it off but dont want to break it. any ideas would be gratefully recieved.

Have you thought about something like a drain unblocker chemical, disolves it all. Good flush and a couple of blank washes after would see all ok
