How do I replace Start Button, Hotpoint TCM570?

Hi,

I have a hotpoint tcm570 and the start button has failed on it. I have managed to get a replacement start button but can't for the life of me work out how to get the old one out.

I can get the control panel off to access the switch from behind but can't figure out how to get it out.

Any help would be much appreciated as I cant afford to pay anyone to do it for me.

Many thanks

Drew

Thanks for getting back to me.

No I haven't checked that. It no longer click on and off though.

are you sure the start button is faulty before you remove it, have you checked it with a meter and discovered it is not closing the contacts within the switch?
