Can a Renault Cio 1.2 8v 51 reg multi timer unit be chipped?

I currently own a renault clio 1.2 8v 51 reg, I had a problem with the rear wiper motor, one mintue it was working and the next day I come to use it and it didn't work, so I got an auto-electrican out to it and he bypassed the problem by putting an independent switch so that I could use the rear wiper again.

But since then, my central locking and front wiper have stopped working, I think that it may have something to do with the multi timer unit?

I was wondering if there is anyway that the unit could either be bypassed or chipped in anyway, to try and stop this unit shutting down my car bit by bit.

I have had a similar problem and suspected the fuses which plug into the unit. I have tried removing the relevant fuses and cleaning the contacts, or replacing the fuses. This seems to have got things working as normal. However there does seem to be a noisy relay but this does not affect any of the functions. Hope this might be of help, if nothing else it might be worth a try. It is a good idea to record or take a picture of the fuse layout so you know what goes where.
