did you have the crank pin into the flywheel ok?think a 7/32 drill bit fits,if you cant then get the cam pin inserted then it is likely your timing chain is stretched,if it is out a long way then it is likely it will not start,if the oil isn`t changed regularly on these then timing chain/tensioner problems will occur,was the new starter an uprated one?think a heavier duty astra starter fits these now and does make a difference,other problems are crank sensors which can get damaged due to dual mass flywheel debris damaging them,has it been on a code reader?any faults stored?filters changed regularly?if you can check the veh history and make sure it has had plenty servicing,if not suspect timing chain problems,good luck
