My vauxhall Astra 1.8 SRI will not start, the battery and alternator have been checked and both ok! do you think it could be the starter motor or the chip in my key could be broken etc..? It starts when it is jump started and recently it started and ran for about a week then this morning it didnt start up again!! HELP!!!
yes it does click when i turn the key. sometimes it will even start which is so confusing. Im not sure whether its the starter motor or not. Seen one mechanic and he seems to think its that. I have treid the spare key so its nothing to do with breaking the chip in the old key or the immobiliser etc.

getting same problem with my zafira and everybody tells me its glow plugs or the diesel pipes are porous. literally turn it over for ages to the point the battery drains and have to jump start it especially if its cold :o(

You do not say what is happening when you try to start, Do you get a click, does it turn over??
Just a click, would point to starter solonoid sticking, needs to be cleaned. Need more info
