Immobiliser problem?

I have a 2001 Mazda Demio with an immobiliser problem, it will sometimes let me start the car, but then the car cuts itself out. The immobiliser chip is in the engine it would seem, is there any way of bypassing/sorting it out without taking it to a garage, as i cant get it started!

Look i dont know who you are, but this is a genuine problem. My car has been sitting on my forecourt doing nothing, i am having to walk to work while my car just sits there. I have already taken it to one garage who told me that the car is too old and they dont have diagnostic equipment to help me. I AM NOT A CRIMINAL.

The police have enough to do, without all the criminals knowing how to bypass imobilizers.
