I have an APM8620 ?

I have an APM8620, recently it stopped heating up. I replaced the heating element, it did not work, i replaced the thermostat, it heated up first time but the cabinet got so hot it was dangerous to touch, then the cut out switch kicked in. Any ideas what the fault might be. It turns fine

Going over temp, would indicate faulty temperature control, the thermostat or cct, check correct parts used for unit, thermostat might have its range setting on the side, check wiring. Check thermostat with a test meter, should be short, until heat applied, solder iron, iron etc, see if it opens, The thermostat probably controls a relay, or triac control pcb, (which, could be part of main board Triacs can be replaced.) which is faulty,
Not much in dryers, motor to turn drum, timer, heater, heater control.
