2004 Fiesta Zetec Electrical problem?

The battery keeps going flat, and the dashboard comes up with Electrical problem. What could this be? Can anyone help?

has the battery been tested?if it is the original battery would suggest it is nearing its end,once motor is running would check the alternator output,should be 14v+ and make sure all lights are off,especially inside the boot or glove compartment
