Wash cycle stuck at 76 minutes remaining?

My Kenmore Ultra Wash 665.17532200 dish washer starts ok and goes through the first wash cycle. When the second cycle starts the display is stuck on 76 minutes remaining. Being concerned after 45 minutes or so I shut machine off. Could this be a bad digital display or a bad electronic control board? Also notice that the heating pause and sensing pause light remained on during the 76 minutes.
Thanks for any help provided.

I would say it is not heating the water. Until it reaches a set temperature the wash cycle will not progress on. It does not heat on the first wash because that is a cold rinse. Confirm it by running it again through to the 2nd wash and let it wash for 10 - 15 minutes. Stop dishwasher & open the door and see if water is still cold. If so then you need to check the element, thermostat & wiring from control board down to element. If all that is okay then I would suspect a fault on the control board.
