I have aquired a makita 4304t jigsaw but cannot work out how to change the blade. I cannot see any allen key fittings or anything else for that matter. The blade snapped in use and I need to change it but it is firmly imbedded in the shank. Can anybody help?

Your instructions worked perfedctly for me, thought I'd bought a runt with a broken blade and that's why it was cheap. Didn;'t notice when i purchased it but following your advice I have now sorted the problem and just wanted to say big thanks to you and this forum.

the platic shield on the front twists round then your blade will drop out then put a new blade in the same way but with blade pointing outwards

I have had the same problem! I have been searching the internet for the manual so far with out sucess. However I went back to the saw and was able to install a new blade. This is how:
1. Slide the button on top of the saw out, forward away from the body of the saw.
2. Rotate the button anti-clockwise - unscrew it. The jaws open and the remains of the old blade will come out.
3. Insert new blade and rotate the button clockwise to close the jaws and clamp the blade.
The saw is now ready for use.
