how can i fix my vax rapide carpet cleaner/washer?

my Vax Rapide Carpet Cleaner/ Washer works well but doesn't seem to draw/ suck up as much water once you've cleaned the carpet as it once did. I imagine its easily solved but as i'm not technically minded so I would welcome any assistance.
